With the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen finally underway, we’ve had the chance to see the beginning of Gojo’s Past Arc, which took us back to 2006, when Gojo and Geto were still students. The story will be thrilling, but aside from that, it will also provide us with some great characters, including younger versions of characters we know from the present timeline. One of them is Shoko Ieiri, a character we know from the present timeline but whose younger version was seen in the second season’s first episode, as she was confirmed to be Gojo’s and Geto’s classmate. Seeing how she is an important character in the series, we will tell you what happened to her in the series.

Shoko Ieiri is a powerful jujutsu sorceress currently working as the primary doctor (and pathologist!) of the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, where she graduated from the same class as Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto. Shoko is somewhat somber and serious; she has demonstrated that she wants to accomplish her work, and she typically steers clear of direct conflict. She has proven to be a very useful tool for sorcerers because she is one of the few who can use the Reverse Cursed Technique to heal others. She is, of course, currently alive and well.

The rest of this article will focus on Shoko Ieiri and her fate in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. Shoko Ieiri is a character we’ve seen in the present timeline but who also appeared in Gojo’s Past Arc, which is why it makes sense that people want to find out about her fate. Her fate interests all fans, so we will reveal what happened to her in this article. This article will contain some spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, so be careful how you approach it.

Shoko Ieiri is an intriguing character, and luckily, we can confirm that she is alive and well as of the time of writing

Shoko Ieiri is a doctor at the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College and a former Satoru and Suguru Geto classmate at that same school. She proved to be a very valuable resource, being one of the few able to actually heal other people with her Reverse Cursed Technique.

Shoko is a rather dark and very serious person who only cares about doing his job properly, but sometimes he can happen to make fun of people with Satoru, as the two of them are very close friends.

As for her story, we must state that her past is unknown. We don’t know anything about her family or her life before 2006 when she made her first chronological appearance as a student at the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, where her classmates were none other than Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto; the three of them were the only students under then-professor Masamichi Yaga.

As far as it seems, the three of them were very close friends and cared about each other a lot; Gojo and Ieiri are still friends, but we assume that Geto going rogue at one point hurt them significantly. But now, let us see what happened to her in the story.

So, as we have said, Shoko Ieiri made her chronological debut in 2006 during Gojo’s Past Arc. After Mei Mei and Utahime were sent on a mission to a cursed mansion whose curse could manipulate space and time and did not call back in two days, Gojo, Geto, and Ieiri were sent to check up on them. And while Gojo and Geto took care of the curse, Ieiri did not participate in the fight, but it seemed that she was very close with Utahime, who was exceptionally happy to see her (and the same thing could not be said about Gojo and Geto).

She was later seen when Yaga was discussing Tengen with them, and she also liked to spend time with Gojo and Geto as she was there in the basketball arena; as the two began to argue, knowing what could happen, she simply slipped out of the arena and met Yaga, who kicked Gojo’s and Geto’s butts.

After the events, she was seen, along with Geto, helping Gojo to accommodate his new skills. A bit later, after graduation, as it seems, she met Geto on the street and called Gojo to tell him that she saw their former classmate. As you can see, despite being in the gist of it, she did not play a major role in Gojo’s Past Arc.

As for the present timeline, we first saw her during the Fearsome Womb Arc, when it was revealed that she was working as a doctor at the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College; incidentally, the doctor was also the pathologist for the school.

Now, Ieiri working as a doctor makes sense, as her Reverse Cursed Technique allowed her to heal others, but it was somewhat surprising to see her being a pathologist as well. Be that as it may, she was called in to examine the body of Yuji Itadori, who Sukuna had slain.

And while she seemed to like working as a pathologist, as she was excited to dissect Itadori’s body, her disappointment was obvious when Itadori was revived; it wasn’t anything personal; she was just curious to examine the corpse of the human who was able to eat Sukuna’s fingers and control such a powerful entity.

Later, she figured out that the curses transformed by Mahito were formerly human, which she told Nanami and Itadori as the two of them were working on the case. She demonstrated some amazing skills and knowledge in that aspect, which was absolutely amazing, as no one could actually figure out the true nature of these strange curses that Mahito created.

During the Shibuya Incident and Culling Game Arcs, Shoko Ieiri’s healing skills came to the forefront, although she was still rarely seen. During the former, she set up a place to heal wounded allies and was guarded by Yaga; although she told him that she did not need him there, Yaga explained that since she was the only one capable of healing their allies, she needed to be protected.

She was also there when Sukuna delivered Megumi to them, proving how important her role in the background was. As for the Culling Game Arc, she was also there to heal Hana Kurusu and observed as Gojo was finally released from the Prison Realm. After informing him of Nanami’s death, she watched as he prepared to fight Sukuna, who is currently alive and well, observing the fight between the two powerful characters.

So, as you can see, Shoko Ieiri is currently alive and well, and since she is a truly interesting character, we actually do hope that she will survive the events of the story, as Akutami is notorious for killing off his characters.
