Few topics garner as much attention among comic book movie fans as fan castings. Marvel and DC enthusiasts are constantly speculating about which actors would be perfect for the roles of superheroes (and villains) who have yet to grace the big screen or may need a recast.

After collecting fan castings for Marvel and DC roles, we’ve compiled a list of the most intriguing ones. Some are quite promising, while others have sparked controversy among fans.

Keanu Reeves as Ghost Rider

Keanu Reeves is truly known as one of the nicest actors in Hollywood, but he is no stranger to action and supernatural roles. Ever since they saw him in ‘Constantine’ fans have frequently fan-casted ‘The Matrix’ star for the role. Now that there are whispers of a Ghost Rider movie or Midnight Sons-focused project, it might just happen.

Reeves has the brooding and dark personality to definitely pull it off.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Doctor Doom

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is widely known for his role as Jaime Lannister in the globally acclaimed TV series “Game of Thrones.” Although his time on the show ended with the final season, fans have since envisioned him as Doctor Doom through various fan art and concept trailers. Waldau wouldn’t be the first “Game of Thrones” actor to join the MCU, as both Kit Harington and Richard Madden appeared in “Eternals.”

Waldau has the range and physique to portray the iconic villain. His ability to evoke sympathy makes him an ideal choice for a complex, morally ambiguous character.

Johnny Depp as Mephisto

Mephisto has only been mentioned in the MCU so far, but with the studio’s increasing focus on magic, the Midnight Sons, and similar themes, there’s a strong chance he’ll make his debut soon. Johnny Depp is the most popular fan-casting choice for the role, and now that he’s back in Disney’s good graces, it could actually happen.
