The fact is that Kira was the one person that motivated Edgin to do the things that he did throughout the movie, as all that he wanted was for her to have a better life. Despite her limited role in the storyline, she is one of the most important figures in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Now, let’s look at what we know about Kira in Honor Among Thieves.

Kira’s Background Explained

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves went straight to the jugular during the early portion of the storyline when Edgin was appealing his case in front of the council set to decide whether or not he and Holga were worthy of being pardoned for their crimes. Of course, he had to tell a sob story that involved his early life and how he became a thief.

It all started when Edgin decided to join the Harper’s Guilds, a secret organization of spies that worked for the good of the common people. His wife, Zia, supported his life as a Harper. But the fact is that Edgin felt that living the life of a Harper, which required him not to seek any riches, made him feel that he and his family deserved better. And he needed to find a way to continue to provide for Zia and their daughter, Kira.

However, because Edgin was responsible for putting a few Red Wizar behind bars, these evil sorcerers decided to take revenge by killing Zia using a Red Wizard blade. Luckily, Zia could hide Kira before the Red Wizards could find her. And Edgin was left alone to raise his daughter as a single father.

Holga, however, took pity on the baby girl and decided to live with Edgin to take care of Kira. She became a mother figure to the child even though she and Edgin were more like brothers and sisters or best friends. Nevertheless, because the duo struggled to make ends meet, they decided to live a life of petty thievery by stealing from rich people without hurting anyone. They ended up teaming up with two other people in the form of Forge and Simon.

‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ Post-credits Scene Explained

One day, a mysterious woman named Sofina hired them for a job that involved Edgin’s status as a former member of the Harpers Guild because only Harpers could enter the place called Korrin’s Keep. She wanted to get her hands on a horn-like relic. Meanwhile, Edgin agreed to take on the job because the keep housed a relic called the Tablet of Reawakening, which would have allowed him to bring Zia back from the dead. And this was why he kept the mission a secret from Kira, who was almost always together with the band of thieves whenever they were on quests.

The plan failed, as Edgin and Holga got trapped in Sofina’s time-stop spell. Before freezing, Edgin gave the tablet to Forge while telling him to take care of Kira. As such, Kira was left all alone without a father for two years until Edgin and Holga broke out of prison.

What Happened to Kira in Honor Among Thieves?

When Edgin and Holga broke out of prison after telling the council their sob story, they learned that Forge had become the new Lord of Neverwinter. That meant that he was in the best position to take care of Kira, as that was one of the things Edgin told him to do before he got captured two years ago.

It was true that Kira was with Forge, who was able to rise to power by using his ill-gotten wealth and working with Sofina, who turned out to be a Red Wizard. What made things worse was that Kira learned to hate her father for two years because Forge had fed her lies about why Edgin wanted to take on the mission two years ago and why he left her alone at home when he left for Korrin’s Keep.

When Kira left, Forge told Edgin and Holga the truth about what he and Sofina did two years ago when they worked together to betray them. Forge also wasn’t willing to give both Kira and the Tablet of Reawakening to Edgin, as he ordered the guards to take them away so that he could focus on preparing for the upcoming High Sun Games. After Edgin and Holga were taken away, Forge told Kira that her father had left after acquiring a tablet that could give him unlimited wealth. That was another false reason for Kira to hate Edgin even more.

During the mission to try to infiltrate Castle Never after Edgin and Holga had teamed up with Simon and Doric and had acquired several relics that could help them in their quest, Edgin realized that he had been selfish the entire time and was more concerned with bringing Zia back from the dead instead of being a father to Kira. When he found Kira in Castle Never, he told her how he felt, only for that version of Kira to be Sofina in disguise. She captured Edgin and his friends before allowing them to fight for their lives in the High Sun Games.

While Edgin and his friends were trying to escape the arena during the High Sun Games, Forge went to Kira to take her with him in his escape from Neverwinter, which was about to become a city of the undead due to Sofina’s magic. However, Edgin and his friends escaped the arena and got to the boat before Forge could.

The good guys exposed Forge for his fraud, which forced him to use Kira as a hostage. Thanks to Holga’s potato-throwing skills, Forge was stunned long enough for Edgin to reclaim his daughter from the Lord of Neverwinter. Kira and the others were about to leave the city while Edgin was apologizing to his daughter for leaving her and for being so obsessed with bringing Zia back.

However, they saw that Sofina was about to turn the people of Neverwinter into zombies using a beckoning spell. That prompted Edgin and his allies to go back and stop the Red Wizard from turning the common folk into the undead. They defeated Sofina but quickly learned that Holga had been stabbed by a Red Wizard’s blade, which guaranteed death.

Edgin saw how attached Kira was to Holga because she was the one who helped raise her ever since she was a baby. That was when he realized that the mother, Kira needed him the entire time was there. As such, he decided to use the Tablet of Reawakening to bring Holga back from the dead. The movie ended with the good guys becoming heroes of the city, as Kira now has a family that truly cares for her.
