Jujutsu Kaisen is renowned for its strong leads and amazing battles, some of which rank among the greatest animated in anime history. With the series also being popular for its characters, we’ve decided to compare two powerful characters from the show. One is a popular and skilled secondary character, and the other is a powerful and peculiar villain. The first is Maki Zenin, a second-year in Tokyo, while the other is Toji Fushiguro, the main villain of Gojo’s Past Arc. In this article, you will find out who would win in a fight between the two.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • Maki Zenin is a secondary protagonist from Jujutsu Kaisen. A member of the Zenin Clan, she is a second-year student in Tokyo and is in the same class as Panda and Toge. She was born with a Heavenly Restriction, but her cursed energy was not completely dried.
  • Toji Fushiguro is a powerful antagonist from Jujutsu Kaisen. He was born as a Zenin but renounced his family after they rejected him. He was born with a Heavenly Restriction that reduced his cursed energy to zero.
  • Although the outcome depends a lot on the time – early Maki would lose to Toji, but the current would be quite on par – it is still more probable that Toji would defeat Maki.

Powers and abilities

Maki Zenin is an exceptionally powerful individual. Due to her Heavenly Restriction, she has superhuman strength and often uses it in a battle. On top of that, her tactical intellect is great, and she can utilize the environment to her advantage.

Toji has superhuman physical power, which allows him to easily seize Floating Cloud from Maki, another individual with exceptional physical abilities. Toji could easily defeat Dagon’s hardest familiar using Playful Cloud, an item that relies on the user’s physical power.

Takuma Ino almost died from being struck in the face by one of Suguru’s most powerful plagues, which he managed to cut off with another cursed weapon. It has been said repeatedly that Toji moves with incredible speed, leaving his opponents unable to read him. Toji tackles his missions with care, judgment, and caution.

There is nothing much to add here. Namely, Maki simply doesn’t match Toji’s raw power, and he will, of course, beat her in this category.

Points: Maki 0, Toji 1

Fighting skills

Maki is excellent in both the private and professional aspects. She is an expert in hand-to-hand contact, and it is also a well-known fact that she is a weapons expert, which shows just how strong she is. After Shibuya, her powers and skills have increased even further.

Toji is proficient with a large range of weaponry. His entire fighting technique is predicated on substituting weaponry for magical energy. He carries a sizable armory with him, which enables him to switch up his weaponry as needed. Toji has demonstrated extraordinary talent and wise use of his weapons, regardless of whether it is a cursed thing or not and regardless of whether the weapon is sharp or not. He can mix and match weapons during fighting. Toji has proven himself a very accurate marksman when armed with a pistol.

And while Toji is excellent here, we cannot simply ignore that Maki is also quite skilled with weapons, and that is why the points are divided.

Points: Maki 1, Toji 2

Jujutsu

Due to her having a Heavinly Restriction, Maki has very low quantities of cursed energy, so she has to wear special glasses – otherwise, she cannot see curses. She has no techniques. She was tied to her sister, who had a lot of cursed energy, so after she died, Maki’s cursed energy was also reduced.

Toji has no cursed energy, unlike every other case in history. The cursed energy was fully expelled from his body by his Heavenly Restriction. As a result, Toji may pass through obstacles and even slip past the Sixth Eye without being noticed by other exorcists. This made him more unpredictable in combat and led to people underestimating him based only on magical energy.

Ultimately, since neither of them meets any criteria, we have decided to leave the final category as it is so no one gets a point.

Toji is a completely different level of fighting, and he would win against Maki

As the points confirm it, actually, Toji is the winner here. Sure, Maki is now, thanks to the sacrifice of her twin, basically on the same level of power as Toji, but she could not match his experience. Toji was a professional assassin, and he almost killed Gojo, while Maki, despite a set of similar skills, only less brutal, never gained so much experience, sadly. This is, ultimately, she would lose.
