With Witcher: Blood Origin soon to arrive on Netflix, the mysterious show itself is generating a lot of questions from the fans. As we know so far, the series serves as a prequel to the main series and shows what the world was like before the disastrous event called the Conjunction of Spheres. The series will take place 1200 years before the events of the main series, and thus we’re aware that it will follow a completely different cast of characters. One such newly introduced character is an elven sage that goes by the name of Zacaré, played by Lizzie Annis. In today’s post, we’re going to shed some life on this character, so let’s see who exactly is Zacaré in Witcher: Blood Origin.
Zacaré is an elven sage, which means that she has a great aptitude for elven forms of magic. Zacaré shares a deep and magical connection with her celestial twin, Syndril, that will also appear in the series. Zacaré is played by Lizzie Annis, a 19-year-old actress best known for her role in Night Growler.

Who Is Zacaré in the Witcher: Blood Origin
We know that the Witcher: Blood Origin is set 1200 years before the arrival of humans to the Continent, and as such, the series serves as a prequel to the main series. Prior to the arrival of humans to the Continent, the world was mostly inhabited by so-called “elder races,” elves, dwarves, and gnomes.
As such, the series will give us a greater insight into the elven civilization during their golden age.
Elven civilization was complex; it was divided into many city-states and clans. The main goal of the series is to present us with the story of the so-called seven outcasts who will find themselves in the middle of the event called “The Conjunction of the Spheres .”Speaking of the outcasts and main characters, so far, we’ve shed some light on Fjall Stoneheart, who belongs to the Dog Clan, Scían from the Dog Clan, Éile from the Raven Clan, and the princess Merwyn of Xin’trea. Now it’s time to cover one more important character and put it in the context of elven society as it were during the events of Witcher: Blood Origin.
We’ve already mentioned several times the event called the Conjunction of Spheres. This event resulted in several planes of existence merging and thus led to the introduction of humans to the Continent. Humans were not the only thing that arrived as monsters and magic followed. This is perhaps a bit wrong to say, as magic always existed on the Continent but in another form. And this is where the character of Zacaré comes in.
Zacaré is an elven sage born under a comet as it was passing in the sky. We’re used to seeing sorcerers in the world of the Witcher, but they are not the same as elven sages. Elven sages did not use chaos magic. They were mostly oriented toward elemental magic, trying to keep balance and harmony in nature. Elven sages, according to the lore, had a great aptitude for natural magic, divining the past, present, and future events.
They also had great insight into the Elder Blood and the gene of Lara Dorren. And as we all know, Elder Blood plays an important role in the main Witcher series as well as in the books and games. It is unclear how much Zacaré is connected to the elder blood, but we do know that she shares a deep and magical connection with another character from the series called Syndril. Syndril was born at the same time as Zacaré in the same village. They are not twins by blood but are considered to be “Celestial Twins.” What makes these two individuals special is the fact that they share magical abilities and an intrinsic bond that cannot be explained through rational means.
Zacaré and Syndril will be separated by some so far unknown tragic event, and they will be forced back together to re-establish their relationship and learn how to utilize their powers together for the good of the group.
It is likely then that the series will focus on their journey and their story as they learn how to co-exist and use their magic together, stronger as one.
Who is Lizzie Annis, the actress behind Zacaré?
Lizzie Annis is a 19-year-old actress and writer born in London. So far, her resume is humble, as she only appeared in a short comedy movie called Nightgrowler that was released back in 2020. Lizzie did, however perform regularly at the theater as her education was oriented toward acting as well. Witcher: Blood Origin is possibly her biggest role so far, as she fits the character of Zacaré perfectly due to her ethereal looks.
As you can see, Zacaré will play a role of an elven sage, an individual with an incredible capacity for performing elemental magic. She is also possibly connected to the Elder Blood, but to what extent, we cannot know yet. What we do know is that she is connected to the character of Syndril. Syndril is Zacaré’s celestial twin, and the two will need to figure out how to work together and utilize their magnificent powers as they are caught up in the events leading to the Conjunction of Spheres.
