How Many People Has Sasuke Killed? Here Is the List!
Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most important characters in the whole Naruto franchise. The antihero of the series, Sasuke, has been it all – the villain, the hero, and, finally, an antihero that beautifully complements Naruto’s heroic ideals. On top of that, Sasuke is also one of the strongest characters in the whole series. Sasuke is a character we have written about several times, but there is always more we can tell you, and this article will do just that. Namely, in it, we will tell you how many people Sasuke has killed.
As far as Sasuke Uchiha is concerned, he has a total of two confirmed kills in the series – he killed Orochimaru (who was later revived), and he killed White Zetsu – but he also killed some samurai of the Land of Iron, but their number is not known. Sasuke has given it his best not to kill actual people (the undead and revived corpses don’t really count here), and his kill count, despite rumors, is not that high.
The rest of this article will elaborate on how many people Sasuke Uchiha, one of the protagonists, has killed in the Naruto franchise. We will give a precise answer to the question, introduce Sasuke a bit, and list all of his known killings in the Naruto franchise. Be careful, though, as there will be spoilers in the article.
How many people has Sasuke killed?
Sasuke has always been considered capable of quickly picking up most ninja abilities. His performance at the Ninja Academy was exceptional, as he was considered the best student in his class. During the test of the bells, he was the only one who managed to touch one and put his teacher, Kakashi Hatake, in some trouble; he proved to be above average genin during the first part.
Over time, he has honed his skills to an impressive level and has become one of the most powerful characters in the whole series, reaching even Naruto’s level of power at one point in the story. Many of his powers and abilities stem from the fact that he can use the Rinnegan, but he has proven himself capable of some amazing feats even without his signature move.
And while Sasuke was a villain in the series at one point, he has not actually killed many people in the series. He has killed two individual characters and an unknown (but small) number of Samurai from the Land of Iron, which is a topic we are going to talk about below. Sasuke was never a murderer; his whole life, he tried to avoid killing his human opponents (the likes of Orochimaru or the alien Ōtsutsuki do not fall into this category). There was a scene in the series where he singlehandedly defeated a whole army simply because he did not want to kill even one of the soldiers attacking him.

Still, after Itachi’s death, his psyche deteriorated a bit, and while not all of his murders happened after Itachi’s death, he was much more unstable then; this is the reason why he wanted to murder Danzō, but that is also something we are going to talk about later. Ultimately, Sasuke killed Orochimaru, White Zetsu, and the aforementioned samurai. Since the last situations will be discussed later, let us just recap what happened in Sasuke’s fight against White Zetsu.
The 100,000 White Zetsus go to war with Tobi and Kabuto’s revived Edo Shinobi and quickly encounter the enemy forces. In the first encounter, the Zetsus touch the enemy shinobi in combat and are then able to use their special jutsu the following night. Once they have touched their opponent, they can create perfect doppelgangers that are identical to the original in terms of appearance and chakra and, therefore, indistinguishable from them. The only one who can figure out which characters are real is Naruto in his special form.
Thus, Naruto is brought out of hiding to fight the Zetsus. While the fighting goes on outside, a white Zetsu hides with Sasuke. After Sasuke gets his new eyes, he wants to test his new power and kills White Zetsu. Whether this was, the real White Zetsu or just a copy is unknown.
Who was the first person that Sasuke killed?
Chronologically, the first person that Sasuke killed was Orochimaru, although the latter was soon revived; plus, this wasn’t really your typical household murder, so yeah… Here is what happened. Before Orochimaru planned to take over Sasuke’s body, Sasuke attacked Orochimaru, feeling superior to Sasuke and thus forfeiting Orochimaru’s right to take his body. A battle has ensued, revealing that Orochimaru’s true body is composed of some sort of symbiosis of hundreds of individually operable snakes. Orochimaru attempted to use his Fushi Tensei, but was tricked by Sasuke’s Sharingan, causing the jutsu to be used on himself.
The remains of Orochimaru’s body were then implanted into Kabuto, leaving a part of Orochimaru still alive inside him. During Sasuke’s fight against Itachi, Orochimaru briefly escaped from Sasuke’s body and attempted to take revenge on Itachi using Yamata no Jutsu. But he was again defeated by Totsuka with the help of the sword and banished to a Gen-Jutsu forever. However, three small snakes could split off from Orochimaru’s Yamata form and were not drawn into the genjutsu. At least one of them was burned by Amaterasu shortly after. Still, Sasuke would later fully revive Orochimaru, who would come back as a changed man.
Did Sasuke kill 1,000 shinobi?
There is a running theory that Sasuke killed a thousand shinobi during his lifetime. He supposedly killed some Kumo shinobi during and after Taka’s attempt at capturing Killer B, but (1) this was only implied and never confirmed, and (2) it was nowhere near a thousand shinobi. So no, Sasuke did not kill 1,000 shinobi in his life, not at once, and not cumulatively. As far as it is known, Sasuke never actually killed a shinobi (Orochimaru is a special exception here), only the samurai of the Land of Iron.
Did Sasuke kill the Samurai of the Land of Iron?
The Land of Iron was the only place in the Naruto lore that kept the Samurai as protection. There Samurai were quite powerful and skilled warriors, but they were no match for Sasuke. Sasuke did, indeed, kill some Samurai of the Land of Iron, but the exact number has not been confirmed. This was one of the darker chapters in his story, and we can confirm that it did happen and that he killed the Samurai. He did not eradicate all of them, but that doesn’t make it much better, really.
Did Sasuke kill Danzō Shimura?
Danzō Shimura was one of Sasuke’s biggest enemies due to his connection to Itachi and his story. Sasuke Uchiha swore he would kill Danzō Shimura and the two did fight, but contrary to popular belief, Sasuke Uchiha did not kill Danzō Shimura. Here is what actually happened. During the notorious Five Kage Summit, Sasuke clashed with Shimura and wanted to kill him.
When Sasuke Uchiha shows up in the conference room, Danzō takes advantage of the chaos to flee with his companions. But they are being followed by Ao. Along the way, they set up a trap to take out their pursuer. Shortly thereafter, they are attacked by Zetsu’s jutsu but are able to break out of it. After Fuu’s spirit is transferred into her pursuer’s body, Danzō awaits his return. Then he wants to tell his companions his true plan. During their escape, they meet Tobi, who fights against Danzō’s subjects and finally makes them disappear.
After the fight, Tobi lets Sasuke appear and starts the fight against Danzō. Finally, after a long fight, Sasuke used his Chidori Sharp Spear from a distance and stabbed both Danzō and Karin, whom Danzō was using as his hostage. Danzō was on the verge of death, but before dying, he tried to take Sasuke and Tobi with him by activating the Reverse Four Symbols Sealing, but he failed and died.
So yes, Sasuke did inflict a mortal wound on Danzō that would have killed him, but Danzō did not let the wound kill him, and he basically blew himself up, which means that Sasuke, ultimately, did not kill him.
Who did Sasuke kill to get the Mangekyō Sharingan?
Despite what people think, Sasuke Uchiha never actually killed anyone to activate his Mangekyō Sharingan. This is a technique inherent to the members of the Uchiha Clan, and Sasuke had a natural predisposition for it. Still, the activation process was quite complex, and Sasuke had to be exposed to a traumatic event to activate the Mangekyō Sharingan. For Sasuke, this happened after the battle with Itachi, in which Itachi died because of his illness, after which Sasuke learned the truth about Itachi’s alleged betrayal of his clan and Konoha. This was enough for him to activate the Mangekyō Sharingan, and he did not have to kill anyone to do it.
