Anime characters appear in all shapes and sizes. They also appear under a variety of names. Some anime characters have first and last names, some have nicknames, some have… well, they are always known as something. In that aspect, it is important to remember all of these names and that is why we have decided to bring you this list. This list is going to contain a list of anime characters that start with the letter N. They will be sorted alphabetically by the names they are known best, whether it is their first name, last name, or their nicknames.
N (Death Note)
Near is one of the candidates to succeed L. He grew up in “Wammy’s House”, an orphanage reserved for gifted children. Calm and calculating, he has many points in common with L. His peculiarity is that he loves to play with children’s toys, which earned him a lot of teasing when he was at the orphanage. He’s the one who, in part with Mello’s help, finds evidence and demonstrates that Light is Kira. His real name is Nate River.
Nagachika, Hideyoshi (Tokyo Ghoul)
Also nicknamed Hide, Hideyoshi is Ken’s best friend. After Ken’s disappearance, he was hired at CCG as an assistant thanks to his great knowledge of ghouls that he was passionate about. He dies at the end of season 2, killed by Noro in the anime. In the manga, Kaneki is starved and weakened after his hard fight against Amon, he runs into Hideyoshi in the sewers.
Hide disappears, leaving Ken alone to heal from his wound against Amon. He finds himself tasting like blood in his mouth and wonders what happened. Hide was presumed dead. In volume 15 of Tokyo Ghoul:re we find Hide alive but with the bottom of his face disfigured.
Nagato / Pain (Naruto)
Pain is the official head of the Akatsuki organization (although it is unofficially Tobi, who is the co-founder, who pulls the strings). He teams up with Konan and sits in the hidden village of Soul he rules after a period of civil war. The name Pain does not correspond to a single character, but to a grouping of six different bodies (avatars), remotely controlled by Nagato Uzumaki (a former student of Jiraiya).
Konan considers Nagato to be Pain’s 7th Corps. The avatars constituting Pain are named: Tendô, Chikushodô, Jigokudô, Shuradô, Gakidô, Ningendô, and the one of which Nagato is the body, Gedô. However, it will be noted that Nagato preferably uses the Tendô avatar to interact with others.
Najahkoop, NaNaNa (Bleach)
NaNaNa Najahkoop is the Stern Ritter with the designation U. NaNaNa can analyze a target’s reiatsu over a period of time to determine his opponent’s distribution of spiritual energy. To do this, he imprints his Schrift on the target and uses it to form a grid, which the quincy calls the Morphine Pattern; this allows him to identify the weak points present in the target’s reiatsu, increasing their size until the opponent’s reiatsu is exhausted.
Nami (One Piece)
At the beginning of the story, Nami’s character is 18 years old. She’s a pickpocket. A sailor, she can instinctively sense changes in the weather. On the boat, apart from the choice of direction entrusted to Luffy, she commands and indicates the maneuvers to be made. After the Water Seven / Enies Lobby arc, Nami’s head is priced at 16 million Berrys.
Her weapons are the climate baton and the more powerful climate tactic sorcery. Her charm allows her to coax Sanji, whom she leads to the wand. She is the treasurer of the crew; she manages the finances in a very selfish way, giving ridiculous sums to the other members while asking exorbitant interest. The slightest mention of the word Berry makes her capable of anything.
Nanami, Kento (Jujutsu Kaisen)
He is a first-degree sorcerer and former employee. Nanami is a very intelligent and reserved man who knows how to separate sentimentality from work. As one of Yuji’s mentors, Nanami is in complete contrast to Gojo, who is much more outspoken and down to earth.
He almost always has an indifferent attitude and appears very aloof and stoic in any situation. Under his tough aspect, Nanami is a kind man with good moral values. His curse technique, Ratio, allows him to create weaknesses in his enemies and hit them.
Nappa (Dragon Ball Z)
Nappa is an elite Saiyan warrior from Planet Vegeta and was Vegeta’s previous companion. Before the destruction of Planet Vegeta, Nappa was the general of the Saiyan Army under the Empire of Freeza and the assistant to Prince Vegeta.
After the death of most of his species, he along with Vegeta and Raditz work as soldiers directly under the command of the tyrant Freeza. Nappa has a destructive personality and likes massive destruction, like when he destroyed much of the Eastern Capital. He’s also cocky and quite sadistic, reveling in when his enemy suffers.
Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)
In the universe of the series, Naruto is a young ninja from the village of Konoha. Host to the nine-tailed fox demon, a creature that has attacked the village in the past, he is rejected by the other villagers. His ambition is to become Hokage, the village chief, in order to gain the respect of the inhabitants.
With a cheerful and determined character, he manages to befriend several ninjas of the village over the course of the series, and in particular with Sasuke Uchiha, whom he considers his brother and rival. As he progresses in the series, he manages to be accepted by the inhabitants of the village, until he becomes a hero to them after protecting them. He ends up fulfilling his dream by becoming the Seventh Hokage.
Nausicaä (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind)
Nausicaä is the princess of the Valley of the Wind and the protagonist of the film. She is the only descendant of King Jihl. A nature lover, she has a strong connection to the insects of the polluted forest, especially the Ohms. She has to defend the pacifist nature of her kingdom against the kingdoms of Tormekia and Pejite.
Neferpitou is a genderless Chimera Ant in the manga (and female in the anime), with the appearance of a cat. She was the first to be born out of the three royal guards, belonging to the “Nen” Specialist category. Like most cat girls is endowed with extraordinarily powerful abilities. During Kaito, Gon, and Killua’s attempted infiltration of the Chimera Ant nest, Neferpitou kills Kaito and using his Hatsu “Doctor Blythe”, repairs his corpse to manipulate him into a puppet.
Nefertari Vivi (One Piece)
Nefertari Vivi is the daughter of Cobra and the princess of Alabasta. Even though she is a princess, she does not behave in an arrogant or self-centered way; she cares about the good of her subjects and her country and does not hesitate to put her life on the line.
In combat, she resorts to a dance called Mermaidance, which aims to hypnotize or charm the opponent: in the anime, this dance has been replaced by a perfume that has the same effect. Her weapons are two sharp jewels attached to a wire and to her little fingers with rings, which, when spun quickly, create a cutting weapon called the Peacock Slasher.
Nico Robin (One Piece)
Upon reaching Water 7, Robin disappears after meeting Blueno, one of the members of CP9. She was forced to work secretly with this group and was seen in the two assassination attempts against Iceburg. She is later discovered by Luffy and his gang at the Galley-La Company offices, just before killing Iceburg. It is then that CP9 is revealed and Robin decides to part ways with the band.
Niihashi, Noel (BURN ☩HE WITCH)
Noel is a fairly stoic young woman who responds to most situations with a mixture of seriousness and dry observations. She likes wearing uniforms, as they show others who she is without her having to do it herself, and she prefers others to call her by her first name. However, she also has a slightly goofier and less aloof side.
Nikiforov, Viktor (Yuri on Ice!!!)
A legend in world skating, he is currently twenty-seven years old. Since adolescence, she has participated and won many competitions, including five consecutive victories at the Grand Prix Finals, followed by victories in the National and World Figure Skating Championships. Her motto is: “She does the opposite of what people expect, this is the only way to surprise them!” She has always chosen music and personally created the choreographies of her programs. She has a brown poodle. At the start of the series, Victor has won her fifth consecutive cup and the audience is starting to wonder if she will also participate in the following season.
Nimaiya, Ōetsu (Bleach)
Ōetsu Nimaiya is one of the five Shinigami of the Royal Guard and holds the title of “God of the Sword”. Generally playful and cheerful, when it comes to talking about Zanpakutō, he becomes extremely serious. He is credited as the inventor of the Asauchi and the method by which they evolve into Zanpakutō by creating a deep bond with one’s Shinigami. Ōetsu has such knowledge in this field that he is the only one who can reforge a broken Zanpakutō in bankai state.
Nishiki, Nishio (Tokyo Ghoul)
Nishiki Nishio is a ghoul whose original hunting ground is taken by Rize Kamishiro. A second-year student in the Department of Pharmacy at Kamii University, he is the boyfriend of a human, Kimi Nishino. Seriously injured in a fight with Ken Kaneki, he is led by the latter to the Antique, where he becomes a waiter, as well as an ally of Ken. In Tokyo Ghoul: re, he is nicknamed the Serpent by the CCG; he thus makes himself known by killing other ghouls, after extracting information from them.
No-Face (Spirited Away)
No-Face is a peculiar creature that first appears as a ghost, later as a monster. At Chihiro’s invitation, it gains access to the bathhouse – against the will of Yubaba, who wants to get rid of the unwanted intruder as quickly as possible. The restrained spirit distributes gold and is transformed into a ravenous monster by the boundless greed of the bathhouse attendants.
It’s only when Chihiro refuses his gifts and feeds him a magical ball of herbs that his power breaks; it regains its original form and follows it as a faithful companion. The enigmatic figure of the oaf is symbolic for almost all characters of the fairy tale.
Nödt, Äs (Bleach)
Äs Nödt is the Sternritter with the designation F. Äs’ gender was unknown because of the long hair and the half mask that covers the lower half of the face but was later revealed to be male. Äs can inspire fear in his opponents. This is how Äs defeated Byakuya after Äs stole his Bankai. Äs is burned by Yamamoto’s flames but survives.
Nonaka, Rika (Digimon Tamers)
Rika Nonaka is among the first three tamers (along with Henry and Takato) to have obtained her Digivice. Her Digimon is Renamon, with whom she shares a relationship more similar to that between two humans than between a human and a Digimon.
She has a rather “tomboy” look, with jeans topped with small belts at one of the legs, a green and white T-shirt marked with a broken heart on the chest, red bracelets, and a yellow collar.
Norman (The Promised Neverland)
Norman is one of the oldest children at the Grace Field Orphanage. He is one of three children to achieve a perfect score in the daily exams and has an exceptional sense of analysis and unparalleled lucidity. He learns with Emma the truth about their orphanage and strives with her to escape.
