One Piece: Is Queen Dead? Did Sanji Kill Him?
One Piece is an anime that certainly has its fair share of strong and powerful characters and epic battles. In light of that, as well as the current happenings in the anime series, we are going to focus on the recently-finished fight between the Straw Hat Pirates crew member, Vinsmoke Sanji, one of the best cooks in the series, and Queen of Kaidou’s crew, since the two of them have actually completed their epic fight in Wano Country; it was one of the arc’s best fights without a doubt. In this article, we are going to tell you how Sanji won the fight and whether he killed Queen or not.
Using Ifrit Jambe, an enhanced version of his original Diable Jambe technique, Sanji was able to knock down Queen, and then he used his Bœuf Burst technique to finish him off and send him flying off Onigashima. Queen was seen flying off the floating island and survived the fall, but a week later, he was attacked and presumably apprehended by the Marine Admiral Ryokugyu.
The rest of this article will focus on Queen and his fate in the One Piece series. Queen was one of the most interesting villains in the whole series, and he had an epic fight with Sanji, and it only makes sense that the fans want to know what happened to this brute, so we have decided to compose this article. This article will contain some spoilers from the One Piece manga, so be careful how you approach it.
Queen was defeated by Sanji, but he did not die
After uniting once more after their individual adventures, the Straw Hat pirates and the samurai assault Onigashima, home of Kaido’s crew: here, Sanji, after being briefly captured by Black Maria and freed by Robin, faces Queen, one of the most powerful members of Kaido’s pirate crew. Chopper was the one who actually began the fight with Queen, but he was overpowered and almost killed after Charlotte Perospero helped Queen, but he was saved by Sanji, who attacked Queen at that moment, starting their epic fight.
Sanji kicked Queen once again, and when Tama joined the battle, Queen wanted to eliminate her but was again stopped by Sanji. Queen then realized that he was fighting Vinsmoke Judge’s son and transformed into his human-beast mode, attacking Sanji. King soon joined him, while Marco joined Sanji; the latter two managed to stall their opponents while Zoro recovered enough to engage King.
During the fight, Sanji – at one point – ran away from Queen and encountered Some, a geisha; the next moment, he saw Some on the floor, wounded. The geisha immediately accused him that he had hit Some, which caused Sanji to have a brief crisis; namely, he actually thought that he had become a heartless monster like his brothers because he actually came to believe that he had hit Some, breaking his vow. At the time, Sanji did not know that Queen, who had been chasing after Sanji, used his invisibility technique and hit Some, framing Sanji for the deed.
Sanji then had a flashback remembering his family and his relationship with them. Sanji’s family history was a complex one – his father was a maniac obsessed with creating the perfect soldiers, which is why he genetically modified his children; his mother tried to save them, but she saved only Sanji, dying later; as the “black sheep” of the family (i.e., the only normal child), Sanji was shunned by his father and his siblings, which is why he ran away, vowing to never become like the other members of his family.

Sanji questioned whether he had actually become a cruel, cold monster like his siblings during the flashbacks, still trying to figure out how he could have hit a woman named Some. Then he paused and considered whether his commander, Luffy, would prefer that he stay loyal to himself or follow in his family’s footsteps.
He subsequently decided to don the Raid Suit, a significant representation of his familial bonds. Sanji’s latent skills were awakened by the Raid Suit, which, as we’ve already mentioned, strengthened him and made him considerably stronger. These abilities would be useful against Queen and the other adversaries of the Straw Hats. But he would also become more like his family due to the Raid Suit.
As he saw Queen approach him in preparation for their confrontation as Sanji pulled out the Raid Suit. When he saw it, Queen was quite optimistic that he would face Sanji while wearing the Raid Suit because it would have made the fight more exciting. Sanji, however, surprised Queen by destroying the Raid Suit and dropping it on the ground, choosing to stay loyal to himself and never to resemble his father and brothers. This shocked Queen, but he was so sure that he would be able to defeat Sanji now that he did not expect anything else to happen. But it did, and with – surprise, surprise – Some’s help.
In particular, Some was on the second floor of the left tower with other geisha as she was recovering, watching the duel between Sanji and Queen. The geisha, however, decided to flee as soon as Some was ready to walk because their chamber was all but ruined. However, Some quickly realized that her pet mouse, Chūji, was missing. Despite what she had to do, Some could stand up and head over to the battlefield, where Sanji and Queen were fighting bloody battles, in search of her mouse Chūji. Queen was also present and once more employing his invisibility abilities when Some eventually saw Chūji and wanted to remove it from the battlefield.
It has to be said, in order to fully understand what happened here, that Queen was a frequent customer of the geisha and frequently requested payment for Some’s services. However, Some always turned him down, pretending to be ill because she found him repulsive (who wouldn’t?). Queen was enraged and planned to harm her again in retaliation when he saw her and noticed that she was healthy. This time, Sanji didn’t let it happen and stopped him from hurting Some by attacking Queen instead.

When Sanji realized Some was in danger, he was actually able to use a new power, forging the potent Ifrit Jambe by fusing his Busoshoku Haki with the genetic alterations he had accepted as a part of his self (while simultaneously rejecting his familial background). Sanji overcame Queen in combat using a variety of improved and even brand-new skills. He also managed to rescue Some, whose presence enabled the Straw Hats’ cook to defeat the formidable foe.
After battling Queen, Sanji gave Chūji back to the geisha, but he soon went out from exhaustion. Some people asked for help. She then bandaged Sanji after tending to him. When Sanji suddenly jumped up after hearing Luffy’s presence again, other people grew concerned. Following Sanji, she and the other geisha tried to flee the Skull Dome’s flames but were unsuccessful because the island had crumbled. They were shielded from the fire as Raizo submerged the dome with water. However, several struggled to resist the force of the flow and had to clutch on Sanji to keep afloat.
As for Queen, he was kicked off Onigashima by Sanji and landed somewhere on the ground. But he did survive, as the manga revealed later. He was later seen in the former Prisoner Mine alongside King and numerous other members of Kaido’s crew; Kaido was, in the meantime, also defeated, with his fate unknown as of the time of writing. Marine Admiral Ryokugyu found them, and he impaled Queen with his Devil Fruit ability, dehydrating him and thus decreasing him in size considerably, after which he brutally kicked him. Queen is officially alive at this moment, and it is assumed that the Marines have apprehended him.
