Why Is Jigen so Strong in Boruto (Compared to Other Characters)?

Jigen is the leader of the organization called Kara and the current receptacle of Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. He is a major villain in Boruto, and one of its most important supporting characters, based on his connection to Isshiki. Jigen is one of the more intriguing supporting characters from Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto franchise, although his role in the series was mostly supporting, albeit important. In this article, we will talk about Jigen’s role in the story and tell you just how and why he is so strong in Boruto.
Jigen is one of the toughest opponents that the protagonist has to face in the franchise. This is due to two things. The first one is that his body was modified using Scientific Ninja Tools, which significantly increased his powers and abilities. The second one is that he was the vessel for Isshiki Ōtsutsuki, one of the most powerful members of his Clan. These two facts combined made Jigen so powerful.
The article is going to be divided into two major sections. The first one is going to be a representation of Jigen’s powers and abilities, while the other one is going to be a short comparison of Jigen’s powers and abilities to the powers and abilities of other characters, divided into several subsections. These will not be detailed analyses, just brief comments so you can understand Jigen’s position in the Naruto and Boruto lore.
How did Jigen get so powerful?
In his past, Jigen was an ordinary human without any special qualities, possessing a body too weak to function as a vessel for an Ōtsutsuki. However, after being controlled by Isshiki and given a series of modifications with Scientific Ninja Tools by Amado, Jigen increased his power to immeasurable levels, being considered to be completely monstrous in terms of abilities. Under Isshiki’s control, Jigen’s body was incredibly resilient, as he took a kick from Naruto in Six Paths Sage Mode to the jaw without sustaining any injuries.
He had great speed and physical strength, kicking Naruto a long distance with ease, impressing the Hokage. Jigen got his Karma from a black diamond on his chin after being completely controlled by Isshiki, with the intention of using it to revive. However, Jigen’s body was not able to withstand his full power, so Isshiki was only capable of deploying a fraction of its full potential. When activating the mark, it extended along his body in the form of black bars. Jigen could partially transform into Isshiki by manifesting his horn on his head. This transformation apparently increased his power with the risk of overexploiting Jigen’s body.
During Isshiki’s match against Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, Jigen’s body reached its limit to withstand Isshiki’s power. After the match was over, Jigen shed tears due to the bodily pain caused by Isshiki’s power, who simply mocked him. Back at Kara’s base, Isshiki and Jigen’s bodies were attached to a machine to be treated by Amado. In Isshiki’s match against Koji Kashin, the Ōtsutsuki was trapped in the natural flames of the Flaming Mountains, unable to absorb them with Karma. Isshiki tried to reduce them in size. However, Jigen’s body reached its limit, letting the flames engulf him. Finally, Jigen burned to death, and Isshiki used his corpse to reincarnate himself.
How powerful is Jigen compared to other Naruto and Boruto characters?
In this section, we will compare Jigen to some other prominent Naruto and Boruto characters. These will be brief comparisons whose main goal is to give you a general idea of his powers and abilities.
Is Jigen stronger than Kakashi?
Kakashi is one of the most powerful and skilled shinobi in the whole series. He has enormous experience and could even hold his own against Itachi, one of the most talented shinobi in the whole series. Compared to Jigen, Kakashi is definitely stronger than the base form of Jigen and even the enhanced form. Still, we don’t think that Kakashi could defeat an Isshiki-infused Jigen. This iteration of the character was able to defeat both Sasuke and Naruto at the same time. From that perspective, Kakashi alone probably couldn’t handle Jigan if he were on such a high level of power.
Kakashi would probably be able to cause some problems for Jigen due to his experience and the fact that he is definitely more powerful than he lets on. Still, we don’t think that it would be enough to defeat an Isshiki-infused enhanced version of Jigen. This is based on, as we have said, the fact that this Jigen was able to defeat Naruto and Sasuke at the same time.
Is Jigen stronger than Isshiki?
Well, this is a rather easy one. Namely, Jigen was “cultivated” to become a vessel for Isshiki. His body was enhanced, and he was chosen as a vessel for the powerful Ōtsutsuki because his body could endure the massive power contained within Isshiki. Still, even that wasn’t enough in the long run and Jigen was eventually sacrificed so that Isshiki could come back to life. These facts make the situation quite simple for us. Knowing that Isshiki is the source of Jigen’s powers and knowing how powerful Isshiki is, there is absolutely no doubt that he is stronger than Jigen.
Nothing else would’ve made sense. Sure, Jigen was powerful enough to contain Isshiki within himself, but the risk of overusing Isshiki’s body was always there, and that is why they had to be careful. This means that Jigen’s ability to control Isshiki’s enormous powers was severely limited and that Isshiki was still significantly stronger. Sure, Jigen could be pushed more than the other failed vessels, but even he had a limit and could not really handle Isshiki at the highest point of his powers and abilities.
Is Jigen stronger than Madara?
Madara Uchiha is quite probably the strongest Uchiha in history. He is more powerful than Sasuke and even Itachi. Madara was a true beast and was able, at one point, to control both Kurama and Susanoo at the same time. Based on that fact, we are absolutely certain that Madara would be able to defeat Jigen easily, even if Jigen was at the very limit of his abilities. Sure, Jigen was powerful, but compared to him, Madara was a true monster, and we don’t really see any way that Jigen could come out on top in this duel. Madara surpasses Jigen’s most powerful form in every category and would easily deal with his opponent; too bad that he was not around when Sasuke and Naruto fought Jigen.
Is Jigen stronger than Kaguya?
As far as things stand now, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki is still considered to be the most powerful Ōtsutsuki Clan member we’ve seen to date. The “Ōtsutsuki mother” was an enormously powerful foe. Her chakra was simply amazing, and the extent of her abilities was such that she was a global threat and that everyone rightfully feared her. Kaguya was immortal and could not be killed, which is why she did not actually die. She was only defeated because Naruto and the company managed to seal her after she had merged with the Divine Tree. In that aspect, Jigen, even with all of Isshiki’s powers and abilities, could do nothing against Kaguya and would definitely come out on tip in this duel. When you look at it like that, Jigen couldn’t defeat many characters, but we’ve decided to compare him to the best for a better idea of just how strong he really is.
Is Jigen stronger than Momoshiki?
This is where things get tricky, to be honest. Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki is somewhere around Isshiki’s level of power; he might be a bit stronger than Isshiki, but the differences are really very small. If Jigen was fighting Momoshiki with Isshiki’s help, there is a chance that he might even come out on top, but we’re not sure about that. Momoshiki is both powerful and resourceful, and he could devise a way to defeat Jigen, even if the latter had Isshiki’s direct help. This is why we’re leaning toward a tie in this particular comparison here.
Is Jigen stronger than Naruto?
Well, this is a tough one. An enhanced Jigen was able to hold his ground against Naruto and Sasuke at the same time, while an Isshiki-infused Jigen was able to beat both of them at the same time. It was a plot thing, definitely, but from an objective standpoint, Naruto is probably stronger than Jigen. The plot dictated a different outcome of that battle, but Naruto is a beast, and he does not give up. Sure, now, without Kurama, he would probably lose because he would have to give his best against Jigen, but Naruto at his peak would definitely be able to defeat Jigen, despite what the plot of Boruto has shown us when we actually saw them fight.
