Kaido vs. Blackbeard: Who Would Win in a Fight?
The Four Emperors (Yonko) in One Piece are among the most powerful characters in the whole franchise and also among the most intriguing ones. Their roster didn’t change much over the years, and they are considered to be a formidable force by practically everyone, rivaling some other major players. In this article, we are going to compare two of the Emperors to determine who the stronger one is and who would win; the characters in question are Kaido and Blackbeard.
Blackbeard would definitely be able to defeat Kaido. Sure, he is not as powerful as him, but he has two incredibly strong Devil Fruits and is one of the vilest fighters in the series. Blackbeard would resort to all and any foul trick to defeat Kaido, and with the help of his two Devil Fruits, one of which was formerly owned by Whitebeard, he would defeat Kaido easily, despite the difference in their strengths.
The rest of this article will further elaborate on the above-given answer, as we are going to compare Kaido and Blackbeard in more detail. Through several categories, you are going to see who the stronger of the two is and why our answer is like it is, i.e., why Blackbeard would, according to our analysis, be able to defeat Kaido in the end.
Physical powers
Due to his muscle mass, Kaido has enormous physical strength. He managed to capsize nine giant prison ships. Kaido is powerful enough that his single scream caused visible damage to the area around him. One of Kaido’s main strengths is his inability to die; indeed, he suffered seven defeats, was captured by the Navy or enemies eighteen times, was tortured over a thousand times and finally, was sentenced to death forty times. However, no execution, whatever it was, worked.
In addition, Kaido jumped 10,000 meters to the ground, sending a powerful shockwave that could have sunk a nearby ship, but he just suffered from a headache; suicide has become a pastime for him. Like Shanks and Edward Newgate, Kaido and Big Mom were able to break the sky in half with one strike, demonstrating that they were equally as powerful as Charlotte Linlin. Big Mom is yet to be overcome, which is a strong indication of Kaido’s strength.
Teach has amazing stamina, as seen by the fact that he was able to withstand a direct earthquake blow to the face and neck from Whitebeard without losing consciousness, especially given that his Devil Fruit gives him the ability to withstand even more damage. He also avoided permanent injury from a direct strike from the Murakumogiri and was able to resist a kick to the head from the supernova Jewelry Bonney.
He was struck in the chest by two fire spears during his battle with Ace, but was able to recover after putting out the flames (albeit with the help of his logia powers). Another example of his incredible fortitude is the fact that he survived two intense attacks—one from Sengoku in his daibutsu form and another from Luffy utilizing Gear Second—while suffering only minor wounds each time.
Teach also possesses incredible physical strength, which is demonstrated when he severely hurts both Ace and Luffy in a single blow, sending them both back to collide with incredible force and distance and even drawing blood (although both times he didn’t allow them to use their powers). Ace is fire, and Luffy is Rubber, but Teach still managed to hurt them both.
Although Blackbeard is as resilient as one gets, he is nothing compared to Kaido’s amazing physical strength. Were it to come down to a simple fist fight between these two captains, it is more than obvious that Kaido would be able to trash Blackbeard, which is why he gets the first point.

Devil Fruit
Kaido ate the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into an oriental dragon, in the same way as Momonosuke, the main difference being that Kaido has a gigantic size in dragon form and appears to be in control of his transformations.
However, he will be unable to keep up this appearance if he sustains too many strong strikes, such as those Luffy delivered. He can growl loud enough to start lightning, too. The entire island of Onigashima was seen to be able to be lifted by Kaido, and he appears to be able to move it all the way to the Flower Capital.
Blackbeard consumed the Yami Yami no Mi, a devil fruit similar to the Logia. This fruit enables the person to absorb everything they choose, master darkness, and become. It is an extremely potent fruit, similar to sea granite, that you can use to negate the effects of other devil fruits. He can use a vortex to entice any Devil Fruit owner, enabling him to attack them even if the foe fruit is a Logia kind.
Thus, we may comprehend why Shanks, one of the Four Emperors, visited Whitebeard and advised him not to hunt for Blackbeard. Following the events of Impel Down, Blackbeard travels to Marine Ford and kills Whitebeard, who is already seriously hurt. He kills Whitebeard and tucks his body and himself under a blanket.
It was thought impossible for him to possess two Devil Fruit abilities when he emerges with the ability of tremor. We still don’t sure how he got it, or how Teach is going to handle these two powers. Marco claims that this is because of the peculiar and aberrant nature of his body.
As for this category, Blackbeard clearly wins. Not only does he have two Devil Fruits, but each of them individually is more powerful than Kaido’s. Having two Devil Fruits made Blackbeard one of the strongest characters in the series and that is why he wins this point.

Haki
One of the few individuals who has mastery over all three varieties of Haki is Kaidou. It was demonstrated that Kaidou could command Kenbunshoku Haki by detecting Kozuki Oden’s presence on Enma while Roronoa Zoro was using it. After his and Big Mom’s joint strike, she also utilized it to detect the voices of the supernovae, enabling her to claim that they were still alive.
Like Charlotte Katakuri or Luffy, Kaidou’s control enables her to use it in a sophisticated manner and predict the future. Kaidou’s mastery of the Busoshoku Haki is also exceptional; according to Law, the Royal Haki was too strong for her to be able to move Kaidou into his room straight. He is also able to have skin that is virtually impervious to common attacks because to his Busoshoku Haki.
Kaidou is among of a very small number of people who can use the Haoshoku Haki. Upon colliding with Charlotte Linlin using his Kanabō, they both generated the typical lightning discharge. Kaidou can use the advanced variant of Haoshoku Haki, imbuing his Kanabō with his will, which expels black bolts violently from its end and makes them extend towards his enemies.
Teach can use two of the three types of Haki. He can use Observation Haki, being able to measure Luffy’s strength and his latent Haki twice. Teach can use Armament Haki, but his prowess with it is unknown.
Interestingly enough, Blackbeard is not a skilled Haki user, which is why he never mastered the final and strongest form of Haki, the Haoshoku Haki. Since Kaido is able to use all three types of Haki, and Blackbeard can only use two, we have to give this point to the former.

Weapons
Kaidou uses his Hassaikai, a giant metal Kanabō that is full of spikes and fits his size, when facing his opponents. Along with his immense physical strength, he can use it to crush his opponents and send them great distances and was able to knock Luffy unconscious with a single blow, breaking the enormous defensive power of his enhanced Busoshoku Haki with his Gear Fourth form. With it, he was also able to block Charlotte Linlin’s attack with Napoleon, an extremely powerful sword. Kaidou killed Kozuki Oden using a double-barreled pistol, but it is unknown what has become of this weapon today and if he still has it in his possession.
When the Whitebeard Pirates began guarding Fish-Man Island, Teach started using claws on his left hand as well as his right hand, which he had previously only used for smaller claws. Along with the rest of his gang, he was spotted carrying a flintlock when he struck Whitebeard, and he also had three pistols strapped to his sash. He was only seen firing at a critically wounded Whitebeard at point-blank range, an attack the Emperor only barely survived. As a result, his precision with them is not completely clear.
And while neither Kaido nor Teach are among the best weapons users in the series, Teach focuses mainly on his Devil Fruit powers, which is why he was never so skilled with weapons. Taking that into account, this point has to go to Kaido as well, but despite the final standpoint, you’ll be surprised by our conclusion.

Kaido vs. Blackbeard: Who would win?
And now for the most important and interesting section of our article – the analysis. Here, we are going to use what we have found out about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would (or would not) help them in a fight against each other. Let us continue.
Now, this is a first even for us. Namely, the points are pretty much clear on this one, as they clearly state that Kaido is stronger than Blackbeard in three of the above-analyzed four categories. In all other comparisons written so far, this would mean that Kaido is the stronger of the two and that he wins this duel. In fact, he is stronger than Blackbeard, he knows all three types of Haki, and is more skilled with weapons. Yet, he would lose to Blackbeard, we are certain of it! Why? The answer lies within the Devil Fruits.
Namely, Blackbeard is the only known person to have two Devil Fruits at the same time, a feat thought impossible because the second one automatically cancels the first one. Still, due to the distorted nature of his own soul, Blackbeard is actually able to use both of them and we can only confirm that the Yami Yami no Mi and the Gura Gura no Mi are both extremely powerful Devil Fruits.
In an earlier article, we’ve established that Whitebeard, the former user of the Gura Gura no Mi, would’ve been able to defeat Kaido with just his Devil Fruit powers. Now, Blackbeard has both the Gura Gura no Mi and his own Yami Yami no Mi, which is also more powerful than Kaido’s Devil Fruit. When these two powers are combined, there is no way that Kaido could defeat Blackbeard, who is also exceptionally resilient.
This is why we have Blackbeard as the winner of this duel, although the points lean heavily in Kaido’s favor.
