MUI Goku vs. Beerus: Who Wins the Fight & How?

MUI Goku vs. Beerus: Who Wins the Fight & How?

Akira Toriyama’s cult classic manga Dragon Ball has some of the best and most powerful characters (and fighters) in the world of anime and manga. Son Goku is usually our go-to character when these comparisons are concerned; that will also be the case in this article. But, even Goku is not invincible, and there have been instances where he would lose in a fight. In this article, we will determine whether the Super Saiyan warrior, in his Mastered Ultra Instinct (MUI) form, could defeat Beerus, the God of Destruction who easily defeated him earlier in a fight.

Initially, Beerus dealt with Goku easily, but after training with Whis, Goku managed to reach Beerus’ power level. Beerus is a powerful character, but even he himself admitted that Goku would be able to surpass him. With Mastered Ultra Instinct (MUI), Goku has certainly reached the power level necessary to defeat Beerus, although it would be a tough match.

Now that you have the short version of the answer, the rest of the article will be divided into three sections, with the first two introducing the characters, their powers, and their abilities. In the end, we’ll give our final verdict and explanation on why Goku would ultimately be able to defeat Beerus in this form.

Mastered Ultra Instinct (MUI) Goku and his powers

Son Goku has attained a divine state known as the Ultra Instinct. Son Goku is currently in his most potent state. It’s probable that Akira Toriyama planned white hair rather than Super Saiyan Blue’s blue hair, which would explain the white hair. Toriyama was eventually forced to change the color to blue so as not to clash with a future enemy. Obviously, this enemy Toriyama was talking about was fused Zamasu, which hadn’t been revealed yet at the interview. The Ultra Instinct was created between 2015 and 2017 by Akira Toriyama.

As the highest known power of the Autonomous Ultra Instinct, this is Son Goku’s most powerful transformation in history, surpassing any power he had before, including his previous Ultra Instinct Sign state.

Upon entering this state, all of Goku’s abilities and skills (physical strength, speed, senses, reflexes, defense, resistance, dexterity, among others) suddenly explode. The mortal reaches a level that even the gods cannot reach, surpassing the Gods of Destruction. According to the Japanese magazine Animedia, the God of Destruction of Universe 7 Beerus, in the anime, acknowledges that he believes that Goku in this state might be superior to him in power.

Just as Universe 11’s Pride Soldier, Jiren, and himself can do while using the Ultra Instinct Sign, Son Goku transformed into this divine state is capable of shaking, in his physical sense, the Kingdom of Nothingness, a great dimension consisting of an endless void where there is nothing and the concept of space-time does not exist. It, therefore, does not apply in its entirety.

In turn, the Saiyan in this transformation not only exceeds the speed of sound and light but also transcends the laws and the very concept of space and time as a whole and their control.

Son Goku, by using this transformation, fights much better and is superior to Jiren the Gray, with whom he perfectly managed to have a fight after he managed to increase his power to the maximum level, not only totally surpassing his strength but also being able to completely counter Jiren’s Superheated Magnetron ki, to the point where he not only held it in his hand but disintegrated it with nothing more than a flick of his fingers.

Goku’s hatred and bravery greatly boosted his power and speed in this form when he successfully deflected Jiren’s Power Slam when he assaulted his companions. From that point on, he could defeat Jiren easily by striking Jiren with powerful blows, effectively dodging and blocking all of Jiren’s attacks, including his numerous physical, ranged, and quick-hit offensive techniques and abilities, leaving him severely depleted.

Beerus and his powers

Beerus is best known as the God of Destruction of Universe 7. He first appears as the main antagonist in the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and then, subsequently, becomes a major character in the Dragon Ball Super series, although not necessarily as a villain anymore. He physically resembles a large anthropomorphic cat that is purple in color and with bunny ears. With a rather childish temperament, he can easily get angry and become very violent if he does not get what he wants.

As the God of Destruction, he remains neutral in the conflicts of his universe, as is the case during the clash between Golden Frieza and Son Goku, taking sides neither for one nor the other. When Frieza destroys Earth, Beerus points out to Son Goku that all of this is the result of his excessive mercy and that he should have eliminated Frieza when he was at his mercy.

He seems to have a dispute with Quitela, the God of Destruction of Universe 4. The rivalry between the two characters is palpable during the Tournament of Power, the two gods not hesitating to challenge each other following a disagreement over the use of the mafūba by Master Roshi. He is Son Goku’s most powerful opponent, surpassing him on every level and announcing that he was only the second in the universe to stand up to him. Another person has already given Beerus a hard time; it is clear that this is his master Whis, the only being in the universe capable of standing up to him.

He can demolish anything he wishes, even a soul, with the help of his major skill, Destruction (Hakai). Even Dr. Mashirito’s ghost, who appears in Dragon Ball Super as a cameo from the manga Dr. Slump, is destroyed by him. Although he doesn’t know why or who, he still thinks Son Goku and Vegeta could pose a threat in the future.

Despite not being from planet Earth, he and his master Whis both have a curiosity about the diverse cuisine found there, particularly the native sweets like ice cream, flans, puddings, and strawberries. Despite everything, there is still a tolerant person who is willing to pass the sponge to everyone who behaves foolishly. He encourages Goku to prepare for the competition where he will face his twin brother Champa, the God of Destruction from Universe 6. He was only exerting 70% of his power during their battle, according to his master Whis, and other people would be much stronger in worlds other than this one.

MUI Goku vs. Beerus: Who would win?

And now for the most important and interesting section of our article – the analysis. Here, we are going to use what we have found out about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would (or would not) help them in a fight against each other. Let us continue.

This is a fight that hasn’t happened yet, but has been foreshadowed a long time ago; now, Beerus and Goku are on better terms, so it is debatable whether the fight will ever take place, but whether it does or not, we have an idea on how it would go down. Beerus has, admitted that Goku would surpass him one day, and after Goku’s training with Whis, the Saiyan was able to unlock and master Ultra Instinct. Since Ultra Instinct is basically a form of divine power, Goku is now on Beerus’ power level. Also, knowing that Whis is stronger than Beerus, we can definitely deduce that MUI Goku would be able to defeat Beerus. It wouldn’t be an easy fight for the Saiyan, but he could come out on top in this form.
