Anime characters appear in all shapes and sizes. They also appear under a variety of names. Some anime characters have first and last names, some have nicknames, some have… well, they are always known as something. In that aspect, it is important to remember all of these names and that is why we have decided to bring you this list. This list is going to contain a list of anime characters that start with the letter S. They will be sorted alphabetically by the names they are known best, whether it is their first name, last name, or their nicknames.

Sabo (One Piece)

Sabo is the second most senior member of the Revolutionary Army behind Monkey D. Dragon. He is the spiritual brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Portgas D. Ace, and the adopted brother of Sterry, the current King of the Kingdom of Goa. Sabo was born into a Noble family, but decided to run away and settle in Gray Terminal. He became Ace and Luffy’s brother by toasting and exchanging their sake cups also called “brotherhood cup”.

Sado, Yasutora (Bleach)

Yasutora Sado (inspired by wrestler Shad Gaspard), or Chad, as everyone calls him, is a low-talker high school student. Just like Orihime, he will develop a power alongside Ichigo via the Hogyôku hidden in Rukia’s body. He was born in Okinawa, Japan but lived in Mexico with his “abuelo” Oscar Joaquin De La Rosa (his grandfather).

His parents were certainly killed by a Hollow (he’s a Fullbringer); his father was Japanese (his name Sado) and his mother was Mexican (daughter of Oscar Joaquin de la Rosa). Yasutora is very tall (1.97m) and looks much older than his age.

Saiga, Joji Saiga (Psycho-Pass)

Jouji Saiga is a criminal psychologist, former university professor and associate of the PSB, and also a latent criminal who is in a rehabilitation hospital. A distinguished intellectual and individual, Dr. Saiga gained notoriety when an increased Crime Coefficient was observed among his students. It soon turned out that this was not a consequence of deliberate action, but of his teaching style; he forced his students to question values and supposed axioms, to think and come to their own conclusions, and not to blindly follow dogma.

Saitama (One-Punch Man)

Sanderwicci, Cirucci (Bleach)

Cirucci Sanderwicci is the 105th Arrancar. She is the only female among the Privaron Espada, also stripped of her rank and replaced by more powerful Espada. Her appearance and way of dressing are reminiscent of a gothic lolita and her remaining part of the Hollow mask takes the form of a circular hair clip. She confronts Ishida and is put in difficulty by the bizarre techniques of Pesche Guatiche.

Defeated in this form by Quincy’s Seele Schneider, she will try again to attack him with a new technique, but she will also fail this time. Ishida spares her of her, merely depriving her of her powers, later she is executed by the Exequias. The ingredients, the tools, the preparation, the cooking – everything is sacred and anyone who flouts this sacredness draws Sanji’s wrath. He also has a reflex, sometimes unhappy, he always cooks for hungry people, even if they are dangerous pirates, a consequence of one of his personal experiences. He started smoking when he was 10 years old, in order to show his “maturity” to Zeff.

Sarada Uchiha (Boruto)

Sarada Uchiha is the daughter of Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno and is thus a member of the Uchiha clan. She was born in one of Orochimaru’s hideouts, as her mother accompanied her father on his journey for a while, with Karin helping with the delivery. For this reason, there is no birth certificate from Sarada, which caused doubts over and over again.

Sasakibe, Chōjirō (Bleach)

Chōjirō Sasakibe was the vice-captain of the 1st Division. Little is known about him except his great admiration for the Victorian era. Thereafter, he will leave the village to train with Orochimaru a ruthless ninja, who seeks to dominate all the ninjutsu in the world and obtain eternal life.

Sayaka (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)

Introduced as Madoka’s best friend, who, after helping her save Kyubey, is also given the option of becoming a Puella Magi. Being of a selfless and compassionate nature, she sees in the role of Puella Magi an opportunity to protect those she loves, having been inspired by Mami Tomoe. Now a Puella Magi, she fights with a sword. Her color is blue.

Scar (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Scar is a former Ishbal monk-combatant; he became a serial killer of state alchemists in revenge for the massacre of his people, perpetrated by the military. He then sacrifices his real identity by denying his real name, which we will never know.

He is characterized by a scar in the shape of a cross on the face (made by Solf J. Kimblee) thus giving him his nickname of Scar and by his arm covered with tattoos (which his brother gave him to keep him alive) which gives it the alchemical ability of decomposition. Ironically, Scar uses alchemy to kill alchemists.

Sengoku (One Piece)

Sengoku, also known as Buddha, was Grand Admiral and thus Commander-in-Chief of the Navy until the Battle of Marineford. Like many other officers, he strove for “absolute justice”. During the Battle of Marineford, Sengoku personally oversaw the scaffold on which Ace was to be executed. From there he also revealed to the marines and the world population that Ace is the son of the pirate king Gol D. Roger.

Seraphimon (Digimon Frontier)

Seraphimon first appears in Adventure 02 Digimon Hurricane Touchdown !! / Supreme Evolution !! The Golden Digimentals. In this film, Angemon battles the evil Digimon Kerpymon.

During the battle, Angemon and Angewomon Digivolve into their mega-level forms in order to release the Golden Digi-Eggs for Veemon and Terriermon, allowing them to armor-evolve Magnamon and Rapidmon, who immediately begin battling the evil Digimon, defeating him, while Seraphimon Patamon regresses, as does Gatomon.

In the main series, Patamon first reaches this form in the fourth Digimon Adventure tri. movie, intervening to aid Houhoumon (Phoenixmon) in the battle against Machinedramon, later regressing into Tokomon.

Serena (Pokémon)

Serena is the new heroine who travels with Ash in the Kalos region, along with Clemont and Bonnie. She takes up the female protagonist embodied by the player in Pokémon X and Y. She is a young beginner trainer, specialized in the Rhyhorn race and in the Pokémon Lounges, very common in the Kalos region. Although Ash does not recognize her when they meet, they got to know each other as children, in a holiday center in Pallet Town. She chooses Fennekin as her starting Pokémon and also has a Pancham and an Eevee which evolves into Sylveon.

Shanks (One Piece)

“Red-Haired” Shanks, commonly known only as “Red Hair”, is the leader of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors who rule over the New World. Shanks is a former member of the legendary Roger Pirates, the only pirate band to successfully conquer the Grand Line. He began his pirate career in this crew as an apprentice alongside Buggy, before forming his own crew after Gol D. Roger’s death.

Sheska (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Sheska is a former librarian of the First Division of the National Library of Central, she was fired because she spent most of her time reading the books there. Edward and Alphonse will come to see her to find out if Tim Marcoh’s research on the Philosopher’s Stone was in the First Division when it burned down. Much to their dismay, his research was there.

Shiba, Ganju (Bleach)

Ganju possesses a fierce hatred towards Shinigami, a hot temper, and an inflated ego which makes him look like a fierce fighter. Although he is always difficult, he has shown to have a soft side as well, is easily bullied by his big sister Kūkaku, (though he has shown that he can stand up against her) and afterward, develops compassion towards Ichigo Kurosaki which is similar to the relationship the latter has with Renji Abarai.

Shiba, Kaien (Bleach)

Kaien, a man of ethics, was adored by the members of the 13th Division. He is spontaneous and had a rather rustic character, adopting a rather down-to-earth attitude. Kaien treated his colleagues as peers, regardless of their social or hierarchical rank. Because of this, he was popular with both aristocrats and ‘commoners’ within his Division. Kaien loved Shinigami and never spoke ill of them. He had a strong sense of duty.

Shiba, Kūkaku (Bleach)

Kūkaku is violent and very aggressive. She often scolds and beats those who annoy her. Kūkaku changes the location and design of his house without warning. Although the design changes are real, the theme is consistent and the houses are recognizable from a single glance. Yoruichi notes that she prefers to live away from built-up areas, where it is quieter. She smokes a pipe. She is also reverent in memory of Kaien.

Shibayama, J.P. (Digimon Frontier)

J.P. Shibayama is one of six children who take part in the series, in which a group of DigiDestined are given the ability to transform into Digimon. J.P., originally intending to return to the real world after realizing the dangers present in the Digital World, receives the Spirit of Thunder at the beginning of the series. Through the Spirit, he can evolve into Beetlemon. He attends the seventh grade.

Shihōin, Yoruichi (Bleach)

Yoruichi Shihōin appears in the manga as a black cat speaking with a male voice (in the anime, during broadcasts in countries other than Japan, the male aspect of the voice has been enhanced). Tomura is known as Japan’s second most dangerous villain after All For One himself, who rivals Pro Heroes with his physical and analytical skills. As the leader of the League of Villains, Tomura has complete control over his powerful subordinates. During the U.S.J. Incident, Tomura had the courage to briefly face the awesome Pro Hero Eraser Head and successfully use his Decay Quirk on the Erasure Hero’s right arm. Shinazugawa, Sanemi (Demon Slayer)

As a member of the Hashira, Sanemi is a very powerful swordsman. According to Kokushibo, Sanemi’s physical skills and techniques have reached their peak. Sanemi’s blood is one of the rarest blood types, making it extremely toxic to demons. He is also unique thanks to his intense power, the slightest cut of which makes the demons immediately “salivate” and thus makes them lose concentration, since his blood was able to affect the strongest Moon.

Shiota, Nagisa (Assassination Classroom)

Rayleigh met Roger on his former houseboat.

Sloth (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Embodying the sin of laziness, he is a 150-year-old brute, an extremely muscular colossus who does nothing but obey orders, reluctantly, because everything is a chore for him given his natural laziness. Extremely strong and resistant (his skin is bulletproof and in the manga we see him withstand a direct rocket impact without damage), his softness makes him an easy target to hit but difficult to contain. She is the twin sister of Mion. They live in the neighboring village of Okinomiya. She was banished by her grandmother who is also the oldest of the founding clan of Hinamizawa. Much more feminine than Mion, and despite her apparent gentleness, she knows how to demonstrate great determination, and even extreme cruelty. She does not hesitate to spill blood and go on a murderous madness to satisfy her own interests.

Spangcole, Ninny (BURN ☩HE WITCH)

Ninny Spangcole is a witch who works for the Inverted World’s Wing Bind. She is Noel Niihashi’s partner. Nini is a young girl with green eyes and blond hair. Her hair is tied with 2 pink ribbons that form two quilts. She is dressed in a green uniform with a pink bow tie. Nini is a very impulsive girl, she often gets angry at trivial things or situations.

Spiegel, Spike (Cowboy Bebop)

Spike Spiegel is a 27-year-old bounty hunter, born June 26, 2044 on Mars. He is a tall, thin young man. The major inspirations for his character are actor Yūsaku Matsuda for his charismatic physique and taciturn personality, and Bruce Lee for his fighting technique, using the same martial art, Jeet Kune Do.

He has brown and red eyes, one of which is artificial and paler than the other. He usually wears a blue tuxedo with a yellow shirt and boots inspired by Lupine III. He is a former member of the Red Dragons criminal organization.

Springer, Connie (Attack on Titan)

Connie Springer is a recruit of the 104th Training Corps and ranks eighth at the end of training. A native of the village of Ragako, he is short in stature and has shaved hair, while his naive and playful personality makes him very attached to his fellow soldier Sasha, of whom he considers himself a twin. Starrk is a lazy, disinterested man who spends a lot of time sleeping, and no one but Lilynette Gingerbuck, his other half, seems to be trying to stop him. Despite being the senior Espada, he is unwilling to take a leadership role, allowing Baraggan Louisenbairn to take on the battle in Fake Karakura Town.

Strauss, Mirajane (Fairy Tail)

Mirajane Strauss is an S-rank mage, which makes her the strongest woman in the guild ahead of Erza. She is the older sister of Elfman and Lisanna. She controls demon transformation magic (Satan Soul) and possesses very powerful demons.

Mirajane has an angelic face when she’s not fighting. She is also the representative of the guild. She is nice to everyone and always keeps a smile. Her emblem is white and is found on her left thigh.

Sukehiro, Yami (Black Clover)

Yami uses Shadow Magic to generate and manipulate darkness. He mainly uses this magic by channeling it into his sword. This magic also has the ability to absorb other forms of magic, such as Light Magic (since it is weak against this magic); As he absorbs it into darkness, it appears to have some demonic origin as it cannot be manipulated by Kotodama Magic.

Sukuna (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Szayelaporro Granz (Bleach)

Szayelaporro Grantz is the Octava Espada. He is a former Adjuchas. It owns numerous fractions. His Espada theme is madness. Szayelaporro is the Espada scientist. He has the same mentality as the captain of the 12^th division: a deep contempt for his Fracciónes, proven sadism, unfair fighting techniques, a certain arrogance, all his objectives justified by a scientific goal.

Also, he thinks that his goal as a scientist is to create perfection, this will clashes with that of Mayuri who affirms that perfection is not a good thing for science. Their duel will prove that. Physically, Szayelaporro is a man of average height with short, pink hair.
