Naruto vs. Marvel Universe: Which Characters Would Win? (Comparison)
Join us on Reddit for the latest Marvel & DC news!
Comic book fans read for decades about how their superheroes accomplished incredible things. Manga fans are the same way, and over the years, we have seen shōnen manga and anime produce mostly power and battle-driven content where very powerful beings are involved. Naruto and Marvel became very popular worldwide, so we decided to have a little fun and do something more than make two characters fight each other. In this special article, we pit two famous universes against one another to decide which characters are stronger – Naruto versus the Marvel universe.
Marvel Universe would overwhelmingly and convincingly defeat the Naruto universe characters. The comic book character achieved much bigger feats than the Japanese counterparts, and their supporting characters had more important roles in the comic book stories/events. Those stories were mostly about defeating cosmic, interstellar forces that threatened whole universes, including the alternative ones. Most Marvel characters are much stronger than Naruto ones.
We will explain our reasoning further by pitting important and similar characters of respective universes against each other and discussing their battles in detail. Moreover, besides individual characters, we will oppose big groups from both universes to avoid listing every single character and for the article to be bearable. If you are interested in this epic battle between Naruto and Marvel universes, buckle up and stay with us until the end of the article.
Naruto vs. Marvel universe – list of battles
- Minato Namikaze vs. Spider-Man
- Rock Lee vs. Iron Fist
- Might Guy vs. Hulk
- Hatake Kakashi vs. Taskmaster
- Akatsuki vs. The Cabal
- Kaguya Otsutsuki vs. Thanos
- Naruto Uzumaki vs. Captain Marvel
- Sasuke Uchiha vs. Thor
- Madara Uchiha vs. Magneto
We will focus on this article’s list of characters and battles, but we will mention some honorable mentions to conclude it properly. I thoroughly analyzed each character for this article – as someone who spent years reading and watching both universes’ content, hopefully, I did a good job distinguishing each character’s powers, abilities and feats. We won’t go into a tangent about each universe’s general history since we all know the premise of each one, but we will go into some story arcs to propel our arguments.
We picked out these characters objectively and looked into their similarities and power levels in their respective universes. We can finally start, and hopefully, you will enjoy the ride.
Naruto vs. Marvel Universe – battles begin!
Minato Namikaze vs. Spider-Man
Let’s start this series of battles with the fastest man alive in Naruto, and the titular character’s father, Minato Namikaze. The version we are using is from his prime and during his tenure as the Fourth Hokage. Minato has a great arsenal of abilities, including insane speed, great chakra control, insane taijutsu skill, Rasengan, Space-Time Ninjutsu, Fuinjutsu, intelligence, and master of shurikens, that he designed himself.
He had great feats in his life – once, he slaughtered the army of Iwagakure Shinobi during the Third Shinobi World War, which forced Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage, to accept the peace treaty. Third Raikage acknowledged Minato as the fastest shinobi alive in the Third Shinobi World War, and the Fourth Hokage was even on par with Tobi before he had to sacrifice himself to save his son and village.
On the Marvel side, we have your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, also known as Peter Parker. Spider-Man has been a bit disrespected recently, especially after Marvel introduced cosmic-powered superheroes and foes who could destroy universes. Spider-Man is all but weak, and his abilities include superhuman strength, reflexes, speed, agility, accelerated healing, master martial artists, Spider-sense ability, genius intellect, ability to shoot webs, and cling to solid surfaces.
Spidey’s feats include hurting Hulk greatly in one fight in the comics, defeating the bloodthirsty Rhino multiple times, throwing Frank Castle over the height of New York’s skyscrapers, destroying Iron Man and his advanced suits multiple times in the comics, and beating herald of Galactus, Firelord to the pulp. There are more, but that would take the whole article.
If we pit Minato and Spider-Man against each other, the fight will be close. Regardless of Minato and his fighting skills, Spidey can regenerate fast and overpower Minato with his Spidey sense and raw strength. However, Minato has insane speed, and a teleportation technique that he can use before Spidey knows what’s going on. The Yellow Flash wins this one for the Naruto universe but barely. If it’s Cosmic Spider-Man from Earth-13 that has powers of Enigma Force, that is another story, but for now, we will let that go.

Rock Lee vs. Iron Fist
We all know this great character has been a parody of a few notable real-life martial arts stars; nonetheless, Rock Lee is still a great and inspiring character. Let’s start with his abilities – master of taijutsu, Drunken Fist, Eight Gates, and Physical Prowess.
During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Kakashi expressed admiration for Rock Lee for being able to open the 6th gate as a 17-year-old when he saved Might Guy from being hit by Madara’s Truth-Seeking Ball.
On the other side, we have Danny Rand, a man who possesses the ability of the mystical K’un Lun clan and learned their ways by taking over the mantle of Iron Fist, his father. His abilities include Rand plunging his fists into the molten heart of the dragon Shou-Lao, providing him with superhuman energy on his fists, famously called Iron Fist.
He knocked out Luke Cage and drunken Hercules and defeated Black Panther; he even took down the S.H.I.E.L.D. Hellicarrier with one punch. Rand can also give himself psychic senses and telepathically fuse his consciousness with his opponents by looking into their eyes.
The fight between Rock Lee and Iron Fist would be hard and exhausting for both fighters, and as much as I love our underdog Rock Lee, Iron Fist would barely win most of the fights if he managed to use his Iron Fist properly. Psychic and healing powers prevail here. Sorry, Lee.
Naruto 1 : (1) Marvel Universe
Might Guy vs. Hulk
Might Guy is the master of the previous Naruto entry on this list. He has the same abilities – taijutsu master, Strong Fist, Eight Gates (fully opened), Sōshūga, Guy’s weapon of choice, and exceptional battle knowledge.
We all fondly remember Guy as a rival of Kakashi who showed his true power by being the only shinobi in the Fourth Shinobi World War who harmed reincarnated Madara Uchiha as Ten-Tails’ jinchuriki. He opened all Eight Gates and showed the true power he possessed.
On the Marvel side, we have Hulk, also known as Bruce Banner, who accidentally got exposed to the gamma rays and transformed into an angry green monster. Hulk’s powers include superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and more; the angrier he gets, he is stronger, shockwave regeneration, and gamma-ray emission and manipulation.
These are not Hulk’s abilities at full power since Marvel writers confirmed that Banner’s subconscious stops his full potential from letting go. When Jean Grey removed Banner’s mind from Hulk, it became the strongest being in the Marvel Universe and destroyed the villain Onslaught.
Once again Marvel team takes this one since Hulk is, without a doubt, one of the strongest beings in the Marvel universe, and since Guy is one of them as well in his universe with Eight Gates, Hulk would still smash him.

Hatake Kakashi vs. Taskmaster
Copy-nin of Konohagakure is one of the most skillful and famous shinobi in the Naruto universe. He was so talented from a young age that he became a Jounin rank before age 15 and joined Anbu in the same period. Kakashi’s abilities include chakra and physical prowess, nature transformation, great summoning skill, Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, Mangekyo Sharingan, and incredible intelligence.
His feats are great, including fighting Kisame and Kakuzu by himself, managing to master more than a hundred techniques, including the main ones like taijutsu, the control of Sharingan that could be considered better than Sasuke, and many more.
On the other side, we have Taskmaster, the best copycat in the Marvel universe. The villain of the Marvel universe uses his photographic reflexes and memory to copy his opponents’ abilities. His abilities or mind were enhanced by the adrenal steroid cortisol developed by Nazis, which opened his procedural memory potential – Masters can absorb knowledge better than normal humans.
Other abilities include being a master of martial arts, a deadly marksman, a firearm expert, an athletic ability, a master assassin, a swordsman, and more.
Taskmaster’s feats were great, including knocking out Deadpool, flipping over Iron Man, and one-shotting Ant-Man and Yellow Jacket. In this particular fight, Kakashi would win because, as much as Taskmaster is capable of copying a thousand techniques, he cannot copy Sharingan and Kakashi’s Kamui. In the end, the ninjutsu and the use of Sharingan will prevail. Kakashi gets the point for team Naruto.
Naruto (2) : 2 Marvel Universe
Akatsuki vs. The Cabal
This battle will include two similar organizations of their respective universes – both of them are secret societies and antagonists of their worlds.
Let’s start with Akatsuki. This organization started in the Naruto series as the pursuer of the piece in the world. It later became a plot of Tobi and Madara for the organization to acquire all Nine-tail beasts. The cast included Deidara, Hidan, Itachi, Kakuzu, Sasori, Kisame, Nagato, Konan, Tobi, and White and Black Zetsu. Each character is insanely strong but can they defeat the secret society of supervillains and antiheroes that directly rival the famous Illuminati? Let’s see.
Namor, who created the Cabal society, departed Illuminati after destroying the whole alternate Earth to save the universes against the Illuminati’s wishes. The cast of Cabal includes Namor, Norman Osborn, Doctor Doom, Emma Frost, Loki, and The Hood.
Akatsuki is full of absolutely amazing and skillful shinobi, but The Cabal society has something the former don’t – insane telepathy and mystical powers. The Hood and Emma Frost themselves can stop the telepathic powers of Itachi’s Sharingan and Nagato’s Rinnegan, and Namor can defeat Kisame.
However, there would be problems with Tobi and his prowess in every aspect of combat, but Loki and Doctor Doom would use their power of manipulation and dark arts to stop the skilled shinobi.
We haven’t mentioned Norman Osbourne and his partnership with The Void, an amorphous entity that has cosmic powers, and I downplayed its powers.
Marvel takes this fight.
Naruto 2 : (3) Marvel Universe
Sasuke Uchiha vs. Thor
We all know Sasuke’s prowess – he was deemed the suitable successor to Madara Uchiha, one of the greatest shinobi of all time. Sasuke’s powers include Mangekyo Sharingan and Rinnegan, which are connected to the great chakra manipulation and prowess, Shadow Clone Technique, great wielder of weapons, nature transformation (Susanoo, Amaterasu), and great intelligence.
On the other hand, Thor is the God of Thunder, an Asgardian Prince, and the son of Odin. This Avenger is a very skillful and powerful being, and the abilities include superhuman strength, speed, longevity, and durability, the mythic hammer Mjolnir, inter-dimensional teleportation, flight, electricity manipulation, and more.
Thor has many great feats in the comics, but besides the ones he gained with Avengers, he pushed Hulk for one hour, lifted the World Serpent, which wrapped itself around the Earth, and held up Asgard during the Secret Wars storyline. Thor achieved many feats, and if he battled Sasuke, the God of Thunder would defeat the Sasuke of Sharingan. In the end, Sasuke is only a human, and you know what? The Uchiha needs some proper beating.
Naruto 2 : (4) Marvel Universe
Naruto Uzumaki vs. Captain Marvel
Naruto Uzumaki is the titular character of the popular manga and anime series and the pioneer of the shōnen genre. At his peak, Naruto was insanely strong. His powers include Kyuubi chakra and power, ninjutsu and senjutsu prowess, natural transformation, various forms of Sharingan, Shadow Clone Technique, and more. We all know Naruto defeated world-threatening enemies, but we will mention that Naruto and Sasuke combining their powers could destroy the whole continent. He is considered the most powerful shinobi in ninja world history.
On the other side, we have Captain Marvel, also called Carol Danvers. She is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe, and her powers look similar to Naruto. Her powers include superhuman strength and durability, flying six times faster than the speed of sound, seventh sense (ability to detect danger before it comes), and can discharge of explosive blasts of radiant energy. Moreover, Carol can absorb other forms of energy that increase her power up to the force of exploding nuclear weapons.
In the battle, the two need to be at their highest level. Even though Naruto was hit with insane power by his enemies, like the Ōtsutsuki clan, Madara Uchiha, and dozen other powerful enemies, we need to give this round to Captain Marvel.
Hank Pym himself said that Carol’s potential is greater than having the force of a nuclear bomb thrown on her enemies and that itself should be an indicator that Captain Marvel is superior to Naruto. We know that determined Naruto would not give up until his last breath, but Carol is similar, and that fact, combined with her powers, is terrifying.
Naruto 2 : (5) Marvel Universe
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki vs. Thanos
The battle of Titans is next, and we have chosen the biggest and one of the most powerful antagonists from both worlds to battle each other out. Kaguya Ōtsutsuki is probably the strongest villain we saw in the Narutoverse. Her powers were insane even before she ate the fruit of God’s Tree. Kaguya’s powers include control of environments of her dimensions, flying ability, ability to read other person’s minds, unparalleled chakra and strength, Infinite Tsukuyomi, regeneration powers, Ten-Tails jinchuriki, Rinne Sharingan, Byakugan, and more.
She managed to achieve many feats – she stopped the world from the chaos on her own and managed to defeat the whole shinobi world by herself until Team 7, with the help of Sage of Six Paths, sealed her fate.
On the other side, we have the Mad Titan himself, Thanos. Besides wanting to rule the world and having an obsession with Death, who bestowed him with mystic and bionic powers, Thanos has the power to make your skin crawl. They include Eternals level powers (being the mutant member of the race known as Titanian Eternals), unrivaled superhuman strength, stamina, speed, durability, and more.
Moreover, the Titan can live without food or any energy indefinitely, can never die of old age, is immune to diseases, and his psychic assaults immunity is unrivaled. Thanos can time travel, teleport, and move through alternate universes. Finally, he is an intelligent being and has great combat prowess.
With that being said, Thanos would most definitely smash Kaguya to the ground without any exaggeration. These are all powers without the Infinity Gauntlet, and if Kaguya tries to outsmart the Titan, she will fail. Suppose she tries to put him under genjutsu – in that case, he will smirk and destroy her.
Finally, if she manages to activate Rinne Sharingan and try to absorb Thanos’ energy, she fails again, since his intelligence, beyond superhuman ability, and resistance will prevail. The whole army of Earth’s and cosmic superheroes tried to defeat Thanos, and most of the time, they failed – Kaguya would as well.
Naruto 2 : (6) Marvel Universe
Madara Uchiha vs. Magneto
Finally, the last fight on this list is between unbelievably similar characters. Let’s start with Madara Uchiha, one of the strongest shinobi of the Narutoverse. We will look into the Edo-Tensei version of the character for this article. Madara’s powers include powerful chakra, physical prowess, nature transformation, Rinnegan, Sharingan, jinchuriki of Ten-Tails Beast, great intelligence, and a great and skilled shinobi. He defeated thousands of shinobi by himself until Black Zetsu stabbed him in the back and awakened Kaguya.
On the other side, we have Magneto, a pro-mutant character who won’t stop at anything to achieve his goals, which he shares with his opponent. Magneto is an Omega-Level mutant whose prowess lies in magnetism manipulation, which includes: magnetic forcefields, armor, rays, flying, metal and matter manipulation, electromagnetic vision, a genius mind, the helmet that shields him from telepathic attacks, and electromagnetic spectrum manipulation.
Ultimately, Magneto wins on the battlefield after a hard fight and after Madara exhausted all the options. Some people will argue that Madara could trap him in the Infinite Tsukuyomi and absorb his energy or use his Rinnegan or Sharingan to defeat him. Still, in my opinion, Magneto is just too intelligent and powerful to let that happen. Magneto tore apart Apocalypse in the comics with his magnetic powers, and the villain is essentially a god and a mutant – Madara loses this close fight.

Naruto VS Marvel Universe: Who Won?
Well, as you can see, Marvel overwhelmingly won this fight. The Marvel comic book universe is just too powerful for any universe in fiction, which is why these discussions are always interesting. I did not mention the likes of Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Dormammu, and more, who would single-handedly wipe the Naruto Universe.
Galactus, Silver Surfer, Franklin Richards … Marvel Universe is just overpowered. Even though Minato showed the way for his Narutoverse colleagues, the more power increased, the more Marvel characters prevailed.
